Nine-ball’s world championship is heading to a new destination. Matchroom announced on October 18 that the 2027 World Pool Championship will take place April 5–10 at Exhibition World Bahrain.
The announcement sets out a 128-player field and a $1 million total prize fund. The event is part of a new multi-year agreement involving Matchroom Pool and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, with the Bahrain Billiard Sports and Darts Federation also involved.
Carlo Biado is named as the defending champion. Matchroom’s announcement also identifies Fedor Gorst, Francisco Sanchez Ruiz, and Shane Van Boening among the former world champions expected to compete.
For KC TAP fans planning their pool viewing, the key detail is the year: these announced dates are in April 2027. Matchroom says ticketing, tournament format, and detailed broadcast information will be released later.
Mark the dates and follow the organizer for the confirmed event details as they become available.
