Good evening, KC TAP! Tonight’s roundup brings a confirmed Philippines Open champion and fresh medal results from the European Seniors Championships. The reports below cover play on October 23–24.

Johann Chua wins the Philippines Open

Johann Chua defeated Anton Raga 11–9 in the October 24 final at Gateway Mall in Quezon City. The victory makes Chua the event’s first Filipino champion and gives him his second Matchroom Major title.

Chua opened a 5–0 lead, but Raga fought back and eventually closed to 10–9. A scratch on Raga’s next break gave Chua ball-in-hand, and he cleared to finish the match. Earlier, Chua beat Bernie Regalario 10–2 in the semifinals, while Raga defeated Baseth Mocaibat 10–6. Read the World Nineball Tour’s final report.

Silva, Correia and Kokten take European 10-ball gold

Portugal celebrated two titles in Gandia, Spain, on October 23. Miguel Silva beat Jorge Tinoco 7–2 in the 46-plus final, and Henrique Correia defeated Manuel Pereira 7–5 for the 56-plus crown. Correia added that title to his earlier straight-pool gold.

Türkiye’s Sinem Kokten came from behind to edge Silvia Lopez Fibla 5–4 in the ladies’ final. Kokten trailed 4–3 before taking the final two racks to collect her fourth European Seniors gold medal. Read EPBF’s 10-ball results report.

EPBF’s October 24 update confirms that all three 8-ball divisions have reached the last eight. Portugal has Miguel Silva through in the 46-plus field, with Henrique Correia and Manuel Pereira advancing in the 56-plus competition.

Germany’s Reiner Wirsbitzki also reached the 56-plus quarterfinals after a deciding-rack win over Christian Johannessen. In the ladies’ field, Ulrika Anderson beat Christine Steinlage 5–3 to advance.
