Rest of the World Wins First Reyes Cup with 11–4 Victory

Team Rest of the World won its first Reyes Cup on October 18, beating Team Asia 11–4 at Makati Coliseum in Manila. The result ended Asia’s run of victories in the event’s first two editions.

Francisco Sanchez Ruiz earned the MVP award and helped close out the final doubles match alongside Shane Van Boening. Their 5–1 win over Robbie Capito and Duong Quoc Hoang delivered the championship point.

Earlier on the final day, Rest of the World took the team match 5–3 to move within one point of the trophy. Captain Ralf Souquet’s side then finished the job in doubles.

The competition ran October 15–18. For league players watching from home, the closing matches offered plenty to study: safety exchanges, doubles communication, and staying ready when an opponent leaves an opening.

The tour now continues with individual competition at the Philippines Open, running October 20–24 in Quezon City.
